Our team is back from Gutu with an exciting report of an outstanding week of ministry! As with many medical missions, our Zimbabwe medical outreaches take us into rural places where communication is limited. We are always eager to hear the first report when it becomes available, and, of course, to pass it on to you!

It was a week filled with noteworthy events as our team served thousands of patients at the clinic by day and shared evenings together in our tent campground. The blessings poured out all week as the clinic progressed.

During many of our medical missions the blessings can only be attributed to the Lord.

Our team of 52, including staff, provided 10,281 patients with much needed medical, dental, or eye care. That’s 10,281 individual lives that witnessed the love of Yeshua (Jesus) through the compassion of strangers who came from across the world to help them in His name. Some call them medical missions, but we are thrilled that there is so much more to it, and are so grateful for how many ways our medical outreaches can minister to a person, a community, and even a nation.

Eight babies were born! With the help of our international OB/GYN team, seven baby boys and one little girl were welcomed into this world without complications. The staff of the rural hospital which formed the base of our clinic said they don’t see that many births in a month! The head nurse in charge said, “It must be your group! You brought the anointing with you!”

On Wednesday, we broke all JVMI clinic records and saw an astounding 2,518 patients!

That record didn’t last long because on Thursday we treated 2,701 people!

1,503 people can see more clearly now because that’s the number of reading glasses we distributed.

4,434 people visited the prayer room and received compassionate prayer and encouragement.

2,156 of them prayed to receive Yeshua as their Messiah!

833 people filled out follow-up cards to be contacted for more information about Yeshua.

We distributed 1,918 individual LifeStraws® and 18 Family LifeStraw® units. Those 1,918 people received the gift of clean, safe drinking water for almost four years while the 18 families will get three to five years of healthy water from their Family Lifestraw®. It’s not all that common that medical missions distribute water purification devices such as these, but we are blessed to do so whenever we can on our outreaches. These people who would otherwise be forced to drink unhealthy water transmitting diseases, and these simple devices help prevent so much sickness!

We had an amazing week in Gutu that can only be attributed to the Lord and His work through us. We want to thank you all for your continued support and prayer before and during this outreach. Thanks for standing with us!

We are looking forward to seeing what the Lord has in store for the people we’ll meet at our next two outreaches: the Odessa, Ukraine, Festival in September and the Gondar, Ethiopia, clinic in October.

Outreaches and medical missions bring physical healing to thousands, but their spiritual needs don’t end when we go home.
